Peut-être ne faut-il pas le prendre au sens littéral mais plutôt dans le sens : "Les choses se mettent en place, le tournage débutera prochainement et je m'en réjouis".
Steven Spielberg a déclaré l'année dernière que ce serait, et c'est compréhensible vu son âge, le dernier Indiana Jones interprété par Harrison Ford mais que la franchise continuerait probablement;
Filming for the fifth movie in the Indiana Jones franchise is due to begin in April next year.
But Spielberg said: “This will be Harrison Ford’s last Indiana Jones movie, I am pretty sure, but it will certainly continue after that.”
Lynwen Brennan a révélé que le Lucasfilm Story Group ne travaillait pas uniquement sur l'avenir de la franchise Star Wars mais aussi sur l'avenir de la franchise Indiana Jones.
During the "Lucasfilm : The Art of Storytelling" presentation at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016, it was quickly and quietly mentioned that the Lucasfilm Story Group is not only working on the future of Star Wars movies, but also the future of the Indiana Jones series.
ILM President Lynwen Brennan was talking about the future of Lucasfilm and how the Lucasfilm Story Group have been planning long-term storylines for Star Wars that will be experienced by fans across many different platforms, not just movies and games but VR, books, comics, television and more :
"Kiri Hart and her group have mapped out a story and timeline across multiple platforms many years in advance, many EXHAUSTING years in advance. … We have a great honor to have responsibility for, so we want to be really careful with that. Not only for Star Wars but with Indiana Jones, which we’re all really excited about as well".
Lucasfilm is planning for a long future for the Indiana Jones franchise !
It appears that Disney and Lucasfilm’s plans for the Indiana Jones franchise go far beyond one more movie.
We learned in March that director Steven Spielberg and star Harrison Ford are indeed reuniting for Indiana Jones 5, with the film set for release in July 2019. Now, given the fact that Ford will be 77 years old by the time this movie is released, one might reasonably assume this is his last go-around with the character—after all, a guy can only lead an action-adventure franchise for so long, even if you are Harrison Ford.
Earlier today at Star Wars Celebration Europe, a panel was held called “The Art of Storytelling”, which shone a light on the Lucasfilm Story Group, ILM President Lynwen Brennan made a curious note with regards to the Indiana Jones movies when speaking about the Story Group’s work on the Star Wars franchise :
“Kiri Hart and her group have mapped out a story and timeline across multiple platforms many years in advance, many exhausting years in advance. … We have a great honor to have responsibility for, so we want to be really careful with that. Not only for Star Wars but with Indiana Jones, which we’re all really excited about as well.”
Brennan seems to suggest here that the Story Group—which comes up with and runs the story development for the Star Wars “episodes” and standalone films and how they all fit together—is also coming up with long-term story plans for Indiana Jones.
It’s definitely curious—and promising—to know that the very talented Lucasfilm Story Group is serving as caretaker of the Indiana Jones universe, and it’s not hard to image Spielberg’s longtime producer Kathleen Kennedy (now President of Lucasfilm) coming to the filmmaker with the prospect of him directing one final Indiana Jones movie to kick off a new franchise.
Kathleen Kennedy et Bob Iger n'ont pas caché leur volonté de poursuivre la franchise et n'est-ce pas Bob Iger lui-même qui a utilisé les termes de
boot et
reboot lors d'une interview ?
Iger also agreed with the reviewers term of calling the movie a “requel” or rebooting sequel. Here is Igers direct quote from the interview :
You have another Lucasfilm property, Indiana Jones, and Steven Spielberg has agreed to make a fifth film. Will there be an Indiana Jones universe, eventually, like Star Wars?
Not like Star Wars, no. But we hope … right now, we’re focused on a reboot, or a continuum and then a reboot of some sort.
Reboot ? You’ve got Harrison Ford for this movie, and then the presumption is there will be a younger?
Well, we’ll bring him back, then we have to figure out what comes next. That’s what I mean. It’s not really a reboot, it’s a boot — a reboot. I don’t know.
THR has been using the term “requel” for these sequels that reboot the franchise.
Requel. (Laughs.) We [got] Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones in the film. But then what’s the direction? I’ve had discussions about what the direction is, [but] I don’t want to get into it.
But you do see making more films ?
Yes, I do. I don’t think it reaches the scale of the universe of Star Wars, but I see making more. It won’t be just a one-off
