The Empire Strikes Back – Format 'Widevision'
George Lucas s’est dit que si ‘A New Hope’ marchait, il ferait un autre Star Wars. Topps a suivi le même raisonnement. Donc, nous voilà avec une série de 144 cartes au format widevision (le grand écran pour les cartes) qui suit pas à pas l’intrigue de l’Empire contre-attaque. Les bords sont d’un bleu foncé contenant le nom de la carte et le logo de Topps en bas à droite. Le dos contient une seconde image qui représente un dessin conceptuel ou une photo de tournage, en plus d’un texte succinct sur la scène visualisée. Ce set de base a été précédé par son lot de cartes promotionnelles (P1à P6, #0 & carte grand format). Et ce set de base a été suivi par son lot de cartes bonus (C-1 à C-10) représentant des dessins de Ralph McQuarrie très intéressants à obtenir car elles sont ‘chromées’, ce qui donne des reflets à la lumière.
Pour les puristes, ce set rend nostalgique car il s’agit d’images de la Trilogie Originale, L’Edition Spéciale n’étant encore que dans la tête Mr Lucas en 1995.
