Le Mandalorien a accompli sa mission et a capturé sa cible. Encore faut-il que les Jawas locaux épargnent son vaisseau pour lui permettre de le livrer à qui de droit !
Après un premier épisode qui donnait l'impression de commencer véritablement dans ses dernières secondes, on retrouve
The Mandalorian pour cette deuxième fournée qui a véritablement tout à prouver.
Et une nouvelle fois, le bilan est très mitigé.
Évacuons le moins bon directement : le vide de l'intrigue, qui tient sur un mouchoir. En y repensant, j'ai du mal à me convaincre que la série nous a vraiment proposé un assaut sur un char des sables Jawas (mais ce ne sont pas les mêmes que sur Tatooine, ils sont en noir eux!
) et des allers-retours réguliers entre le Mandalorien et son allié Ugnaugh du premier épisode (d'ailleurs, on pourrait donner un nom aux personnages ou c'est trop demander ?). Donc dans la foulée, notre Mandalorien doit voler un œuf de reek pour que les Jawas lui rendent ce qu'ils lui ont voler. Bon, okay. On se croirait dans une quête annexe de jeu vidéo, pas dans le deuxième épisode de la toute première série Star Wars, mais bon pourquoi pas.
L'autre problème, c'est la pauvreté des décors. Où est le budget de la série ? Il paraît qu'il est élevé, mais on ne le dirait pas en regardant la série, et c'est vraiment dommage ! Sans compter que si l'affrontement contre le reek tient ses promesses, la résolution est assez faible et surtout très prévisible. L'épisode entier semble en effet conçu pour nous dévoiler les capacités de l'Enfant... sauf qu'en choisissant cette espèce particulière, n'importe quel spectateur a compris. Et au cas où on ne s'en douterait pas, à plusieurs reprises l'Enfant tente de guérir le Mandalorien. Donc... construire une « intrigue » destinée à nous dévoiler des capacités dont on se doute, c'est une perte de temps. Nous en sommes déjà au quart de la saison et il ne s'est guère passé de choses...
D'autant plus que cet épisode est court. Il dure en lui-même 27 minutes, ce à quoi il faut rajouter un générique de fin de 5 minutes ! Mais flûte quoi, il n'y a avait pas mieux à raconter ? Ou alors cette durée aurait dû mettre la puce à l'oreille des scénaristes, leur indiquer qu'il manquait peut-être quelque chose à raconter ? Là, on a l'impression que le scénariste s'est amusé avec sa figurine du Mandalorien, celle du char des sables et celle du reek. Et on brode autour de ça...
Un deuxième épisode assez décevant donc. Il n'est pas mal fait : techniquement, ça tient la route, il n'y a pas d'erreurs d'effets spéciaux ou quoi que ce soit. C'est finalement tout le reste qui pose problème... Espérons qu'il ne sera pas représentatif du reste de la série !
