This new film isn't really a sequel. It's only going to be half the length of KQ and, after my second draft of the script, it only has 1 cast member from KQ...and it's not Karina or Tara.
The guy that played Dannikk, Daniel Schniederman, is back. And he does play a Jedi. However, he is not a clone.
And KQ isn't a dream. That was something that came up but it's not happening.
This new film isn't going to be the heavy drama that KQ was. Think of it more like this, if KQ was like "The Empire Strikes Back", in tone, then this new film is more like "A New Hope."
So why are we doing this you say? Why won't we just go away? Why don't we do something original?
We are making this little film to test different things in preparation for our first feature. We are shooting on MiniDV using the Panasonic 24p camera, and we are going to find out, can we go from that to a 35mm print? Well, we know we CAN, but how long is the process going to take? How much is it going to cost? What does the final product look like? How well do the effects blend with the live action? Do the effects look REAL? Am I getting better or worse in my skill as director?
These are questions that we need answers to before we spend money on a feature, and then find out halfway thru that we can't afford to finish it. Or that the effects don't hold up, or that I can't direct to save my life.
And lastly, re doing another SW fanfilm because IT'S FUN!
